if you’ve read my poem about Ms. Joanne Bland, then you know all about her and her story. well, maybe not ALL about her, but enough to see why she is so amazing. well, here i am with her outside of Brown AME Church in Selma, AL this summer.
she gave us a great tour of Selma, including lunch at Essie’s. on this trip in general, i’ve eaten more fried chicken and mac n cheese than ever before in my life. it is crazy.
